The institutional repository “TOUR” is an archive operated by Tohoku University for the purpose of collecting, hosting, and widely disseminating the university’s academic research and educational outputs on the internet. The full texts of registered scholarly journal articles, doctoral theses, and internal publications are available free of charge for anyone to view and download.

Published content on TOUR is integrated into the national research data infrastructure, the NII Research Data Cloud, making it discoverable through CiNii Research. As a result, TOUR can be used as a publication platform for articles that are subject to immediate Open Access.

In addition, content published on TOUR can be discovered via search engines such as Google and various databases (including National Diet Library Search, Ichushi Web, OpenAIRE, etc.), greatly increasing the visibility of research outputs and the likelihood that they will reach researchers and the general public worldwide.
